History Museum Lunch and Learn Program:
“CCES: Untold Stories”
March 24, 12 – 1 p.m.
Upcountry History Museum Exhibit:
“The First 50 Years of CCES: Growing with Greenville”
March 17 – April 15
There’s “official” history and there’s
oral history.
Think
of the Lunch and Learn on March 24 as oral history: the kind of
stories families chuckle over at the dinner table.
Think
of the museum exhibit as the kind of history you might present in
a family scrapbook—an extension of the formal stories presented
in our 50th anniversary history book by Allison Warren ’82.
Both
events are special and unique, and everyone is invited to both!
We
have some great story-tellers lined up on our Lunch and Learn panel:
South Carolina Supreme Court Justice John Kittredge ’75,
Dena Stone Benedict ’78, veteran CCES teachers Jean
Cochran and Barbara Carter, and Headmaster
Emeritus Jim Rumrill. But don’t expect them
to hog the microphones entirely: you are invited to bring your stories
too!
Reservations
are advised for the Lunch and Learn: call the museum at 467-3100.
While
you are there—or any time between March 17 and April 15—stop
upstairs to view the museum’s exhibit: “The First
50 Years of Christ Church Episcopal School: Growing with Greenville.”
Enjoy photos, memorabilia, student projects, even “historic”
tee shirts—and relive some of the memories that have made
CCES’s first 50 years something to celebrate!
