Mentoring of online enrichment classes are offered after school, in a wide range of topics.
Highly motivated and independent students have the opportunity to explore areas of interest
including science, creative writing, history, and mathematics. These “learn on your own”
courses are designed to develop advanced critical thinking skills through inquiry based
learning and interdisciplinary thinking.

Offered before and after school, keyboarding classes run twice a week for 8 weeks in the fall and spring semesters. Designed to supplement classroom instruction, courses offer students the opportunity for additional practice and mastery of basic keyboarding skills.

Offered in 45 or 60 minute sessions, standardized test preparation is individualized, intensive
review with a qualified tutor, to assist students in test taking strategies, critical thinking, math
conceptualization, essay writing, and reading and/or vocabulary skills. Designed to review all
areas of the PSAT, the SAT, or the ACT, families can target specific areas of need while
building confidence in their student.

Small group, supplemental reading intervention classes are offered each afternoon at the third and
fourth grade level. Designed for students who have an identified learning difference in the area of
language and reading development, class size is limited to five students and is led by an instructor
certified in reading remediation methodology.

Students at the Middle School level who continue to need reading or written language intervention have the opportunity to participate in year-long alternate enrollment courses. These courses take the place of the regular curriculum and are designed to improve student skills and narrow the achievement gap.

Designed for students with identified learning differences, the Spanish 1A/B hybrid class offers a
unique instructional model. Combining the best of online and classroom instruction, this two year course meets twice a week with our faculty and three times a week following a certified online curriculum. The instructional pace allows students the opportunity for additional review and practice, and prepares students to enter Spanish II. This course of study also allows students to meet the graduation requirements for modern language study.
