Wearing a gold tie, keynote speaker Billy Campbell ’78 stands front and center in this portrait of the alumni who participated as panelists in the 2008 CCES Alumni Career Program.

With the CCES Alumni Career Day Program in its fourth year, keynote speaker Billy Campbell ’78 had some tough acts to follow: William Webster IV ’75, Ann Hayes ’77, and Wayne Hopkins ’91.

However, none will be tougher to follow than Billy Campbell next year.

The TV and advertising executive and international entrepreneur spoke in separate assemblies to Upper and Middle School assemblies about his life, his career, and the lessons he has learned along the way. In addition, he showed several inspirational video clips, including one from Planet Earth, the 11-episode Discovery Channel series that was more than five years in the making under Campbell during his tenure as President of Discovery Network USA.

Connie Lanzl, CCES Associate Head for Advancement, set the stage for Webster’s talk in her introduction, which made a strong impression on the students. Read the text of her introduction here.
