As his family, seated with him, applaud, Chris
Brown signs a letter of intent. Behind him are
Athletic Director Travis Perry (at the podium)
and track and field coach Rodney Adamee.
Seated at a table bedecked with "coastal green" balloons
and beads, and surrounded by his parents, Scott
and Sally, and his sister, Elizabeth ’04,
senior Chris Brown accepted a scholarship to Coastal
Carolina University by signing a Letter of Intent with Coastal Carolina
University.

Following the signing, Brown donned his Coastal Carolina cap emblazoned
with two interlocking CC's--a logo not dissimilar from that of the
Christ Church Cavaliers. Students and faculty applauded and celebrated
by sharing a handsomely decorated cake in his honor.
CCES Athletic Director Travis Perry praised Brown
as a fine student athlete ad enumerated his many athletic accomplishments.
Brown currently holds two CCES school records: for the shot put
(49' 0") and discus (150' 4"). (To do this, he broke his
own records set when he was a sophomore and a junior.)

Brown was named Greenville County Champion in both the shot put
and discus this year and was named Greenville County Field Events
MVP for the second consecutive year. He also won first place in
both discus and shot put at the Furman Invitational Championship
this year.
A four-year varsity letterman in both track and field and football,
Brown was a team captain on the 2007 football team and was selected
to the 2007 Greenville All-County Football Team.
Congratulations to Chris Brown and coach Rodney Adamee!
