Class of 2011 Scholarships

Over $4 million in scholarships, including:

  • 33 colleges and universities offered scholarships worth more than $50,000 each to individual members of the Class of 2011
    • 4 National Merit Scholarship Finalists, all four of whom were named National Merit Scholars.
    • 10 Palmetto Fellows (14% of the class)
  • 79% of the Class of 2010 qualified for the SC Palmetto Fellows, Life, or Hope Scholarships. (International students are not included, as they are not eligible for SC scholarships.)
  • CCES has produced 160 National Merit Scholarship Finalists since its first graduating class in 1972.

SAT Scores

  • Historical averages for classes of 2009, 2010, 2011:

  • CCES average composite SAT score is consistently 200-300 points higher than the national average.

Advanced Placement (AP)

  • 18 AP courses available
  • 59% of the Class of 2011 and 58% of the Class of 2012 have taken at least one AP exam through June of 2011.
  • In 2011, CCES students had a pass rate (score of 3 or higher) of 82% on 218 AP exams.
  • 100% of students taking AP exams in Biology, Calculus AB and BC, Computer Science, Latin Vergil, Physics B, and Spanish earned a 3 or better.

International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)

  • 29 IB courses available
  • Since 2001, IB Diplomas have been awarded to 95% of the 181 candidates pursuing the diploma.
  • CCES IB Class of 2011 pass rate: 82%. The average world pass rate is 77.7%; the average U.S. pass rate is 67%; the average SC pass rate is 57%.

Athletics

  • 45 varsity, junior varsity, and middle school teams; 25 of these are varsity teams
  • 79% of students in grades 7 -12 participate on at least one athletic team
  • 75 state athletic championships since 1975; 42 state championships since 2000
  • The #1 ranked 1A athletic program in SC for the last 20 consecutive years
  • CCES consistently produces student athletes who receive athletic scholarships each year.
  • Since 2007, over 20 CCES graduates have continued their athletic careers in college, including 11 at the Division I level.
