Diversity Leadership Program

The Mission of the CCES Student Diversity Leadership Program is to help students attain cultural knowledge, interpersonal skills, and the leadership skills they need to be personally fulfilled, responsible world citizens doing meaningful work in our community. The program also promotes lifelong learning and cultural competence for success in a competitive global marketplace.

Furthermore, the program strives to produce graduates who think critically and independently, adapt to new and challenging environments, make appropriate choices, and act in a respectful and responsible manner.

Diversity Taskforce Committee

The oversight of the Diversity Leadership Program at CCES is the responsibility of the Diversity Taskforce Committee. This committee is made up of a broad base of stake holders including school administrators, teachers, parents, and community leaders who work in small specialized focus groups.

CCES believes that all employees should serve as models for students, helping them:

  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Make responsible decisions as world citizens
  • Use technological resources to enhance their learning
  • Research, analyze, and apply information
  • Behave in a respectful and responsible manner
  • Appreciate world cultures and diversity.

CCES is committed to working with parents and the community to provide the necessary leadership, resources, and support to accomplish our Diversity Leadership Mission.

Student Diversity Leadership Clubs

Since 2005, the Student Diversity Leadership Program has experienced significant growth. In the first year of the program, membership stood at a total of 8 Upper School students. Currently the program has expanded to include a middle school Student Diversity Leadership Club (SDLC) and an Upper School Global Issues Group (GIG). The Global Issues Group focuses on global awareness, critical thinking, and leadership skills development, while the middle school program focuses on anti-bullying programs, multi-cultural education, and leadership skills development. Both programs are purely voluntary and open to Grades 7-12.
