German for Native Speakers

Christ Church Episcopal School’s “German for Native Speakers” Program

Basic Information for New Parents

Informationen für neue Eltern

The German program at CCES began in 1995. Historically, international families have been and continue to be a vital part of the CCES community.  CCES is accredited by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Culture. CCES is the only school outside of Germany to receive this accreditation. In order to meet the requirements for various German diplomas, the German students, who are mostly here with parent(s) employed by BMW or other German companies, must successfully complete a certain combination of advanced level classes.

CCES is deeply interested in each student’s academic career and overall development. Over the years, many German students have been placed at universities in the US and in Germany. CCES is comparable to a German “Gymnasium”.

German for Native Speakers is part of a German student’s school day. In the Lower School (Primer through 4th grade), students are pulled out for German lessons during designated times, in the Middle School (5th grade through 8th grade) and Upper School (9th grade through 12th grade), German lessons are a part of their daily schedules. German for Native Speakers follows the Bavarian curriculum and all textbooks and materials are approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
