Primer and first-grade students didn't wait for trick or treating
to start their Halloween celebration.

The primer students were in the spotlight as they paraded through
the Upper and Middle Schools and Administrative Offices. One student
came as a parking garage (it was full).

There were caped crusaders,

a fair number of felines,

and the authorities making sure things didn't get out of hand.

After the parade, the primers hurried out of their costumes so that
they could join the first and second-graders for Halloween story
time. Betty Farr, grandmother of two current CCES
students is a familiar face around the school. Students have been
enjoying her performances since her daughter, Nancy Strausbaugh,
was a first-grader at CCES.

Mrs. Farr specializes in holiday stories and visits schools, nursing
homes, and hospitals to tell her tales. Enthusiastic students were
on hand to assist in acting out each story.

She also led the students in a number of Halloween songs.

It is difficult to compete with a bag full of candy and an evening
of wandering on a school night, but Halloween at CCES comes pretty
close!
