- Dr. Leland H. Cox, Jr., becomes seventh CCES
Headmaster.
- Girls soccer team wins first state championship.
- Fourth grade moves to Cavalier Campus in Middle School “Garden
Level.”
2001
- CCES is officially separately incorporated from the Church
- IB Primary Years Program authorized.
2002
- Upper School students move into new three-story building in January.
- Lower School moves to Cavalier Campus in the fall.
2004
- Dr. Frances Smith donates $1.5 million to the
One, Together Campaign for the purpose
..of building a chapel on the campus.
- Groundbreaking ceremony held for the chapel.
- CCES hires The Reverend Richard B. Grimball, Jr.,
to serve as the School’s first full- time ordained chaplain.
2005
- Chapel of the Good Shepherd dedicated.
- Ms. Elizabeth Jarrett becomes first full-time
Community Service Director.
2006
- Cavalier Training Center opens.
2007
- 15 hours of community service per year becomes Upper School graduation
requirement.
- Travis McElveen ’07 becomes first CCES
Morehead Scholar.
2008
- CCES suspends IB MYP Program.
- The Reverend Harrison McLeod becomes Rector of
Christ Church.
- Dr. Leonard Kupersmith becomes eighth CCES Headmaster.
- Dr. Leland H. Cox, Jr. becomes first CCES President.
