An
ensemble cast of 16 Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES)
students romped through On the Razzle, playwright
Tom Stoppard's unstoppable farce, in performances on November
8, 9, and 10. One of Stoppard's favorite scripts, On the
Razzle is a dizzying joyride of comic twists and razzle-dazzle
wit. The play is directed by Upper School Drama teacher David
Sims.
Seniors
Peter Micali, Daniel Oettl,
and Justin Ouimette led the turn-of-the-century-
Vienna shenanigans. Supporting Cavalier Players Laura
Beard, Kevin Cobb, Matthew
Coleman, Katie Curtis, Elizabeth
Finley, Mary Kirk Goeldner, Christina
McLane, Liz Penn, Hayley
Rhodes, Alex Smith, Laura
Sykes, Hugh Thompson, and Mike West
propel the play's three interwoven plot lines at breakneck
speed. Crew members Daniel Amato, Elizabeth Brown, Michael
Humeniuk, Aleks Klimas, Allison
Miller, Riann Vorster, and
Teresa
Wallace keep
the sets spinning and the props changing with the scenes.
The
Czech-born playwright Tom Stoppard established his worldwide
reputation with Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead
in 1966. He won an Oscar for Best Screenplay in 1998
for Shakespeare in Love. Last year the Cavalier Players
performed his comedy Rough Crossing.
