South Carolina Football Coaches Association Honors Rick Furman Additional
Links: The South Carolina Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) has named CCES varsity football quarterback Rick Furman to the 2006 Palmetto Champions All-Star Team on Monday, November 6. The Palmetto Champions, consisting of 25 high school football players and ten high school football coaches, will be honored at a banquet on Thursday, November 30, at Seawell's on Rosewood Drive. From this list, a Palmetto Champions All-Star Lineman, Back, Specialty Team Player, and Coach of the Year will be announced live at the banquet. Also, an award for Distinguished Service will be presented for the non-football coach who supports South Carolina high school football. Furman
was a key player in leading the Cavaliers to a Region Championship,
its first since 1979.
