Art Sampler
June 28 – July 2 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising 2 – 4 • $130
Instructor: Jessica Apple, Elementary School Teacher

In this entertaining class we’ll be letting our creative side run wild as we explore and learn about several different types of art media. Roll up your sleeves and get busy! Create your own ceramic mosaic coaster, paint still lifes with water colors, make your own wacky clay sculptures, and much more. If you like all kinds of art, this class is for you!

Draw, Design, and Cartoon
June 14 – 18 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising 3 – 5 • $130
Instructor: Marilyn Mullinax, CCES Lower School Art Teacher

Do you enjoy drawing? If so, come join us and be creative! The drawing basics of line and shape are just the beginning. We will focus on training our eyes to look at things in a different way. Students will create amazing works of art and will also keep a sketchbook to take home and share with friends and family.

It’s My Party!
June 14 – 18 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising K – 2 • $125

Join us for a week of party fun! On Monday, campers vote on a theme for a party – theme choices are Fairy Tale, Crazy Beach, and Seussville. Once our theme is chosen, we will be very busy planning our party. We will need to design invitations, create decorations, make party favors and games to play with our parents, and cook delicious party food! On Friday parents are invited to the party, but in this class there is so much excitement that every day will seem like a party!!!

It’s the Color of Personality!
June 21 – 25 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising 1 – 2 • $130

Become a more colorful person! Learn all about color and new ways to express yourself with extraordinary paintings on canvas. We will also learn about different famous artists and styles of art each day. You will not want to miss this wonderful opportunity to express your true colors! Remember to dress appropriately: it’s going to get messy!

Jewelry Creation
June 7 – 11 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising 2 – 4 • $135

Nothing is more fun than making your own jewelry! Join us as we create tons of jewelry for you to take home and show off to all your friends and family! Not only will we have a fabulous time using fashion design skills to put together beautiful pieces, but we will also learn important jewelry techniques along the way. You will learn how to decoupage your own jewelry box, create paper beads to use in a creation of your choice, and make fancy beaded earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. You’ll leave this class looking “fab” in your own creations!

Little Picasso

This week will explode with artistic fun as we discover the wonderful world of art. We will explore many different ways to create using tissue paper, paint, dot drawing, construction paper, and more. Our take-home projects will be sure to please! Along the way, we will even learn about different artists and how they created their famous work. Come, be creative!

Make it, Play it, or Wear it!
June 7 – 11 • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. • Rising 2 – 5 • $135

This week we will explore the world of art through paint and tie dye. Have you ever wanted to make a board game? Do you love to play with color? Campers will spend the week using paint and dye to make their very own games that they can take home and play with friends and family. Campers will also experiment with tie dye as they create their own tie dye shirts!

Recycled Wonders
June 28 – July 2 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising K5 – 2 • $130

Mrs. Oxner holds degrees in Art History and Studio Art.

As “going green” is the way to go, we’ll take this to the next level by creating masterpieces from recycled goods. From picture frames to jewelry to rugs, you won’t even believe what we can create by using the world around us. Using everyday objects in unique ways, students will learn the importance of being good stewards of the environment through recycling. What a great way to learn about conservation while having fun with art!

Sew Easy! Sew Fun!
Camp Full
June 28 – July 2 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. • Rising 2 – 5 • $170 Instructor: Susan Wright
Mrs. Wright aids in various capacities at CCES and works in our Afternoon Encounters program.

First-time sewers will love being able to create fun and useful projects from the start. We’ll gain confidence in basic sewing skills with a variety of easy projects: a colorful quilted tote bag, silky pajama bottoms, a photo toss pillow, and a tee shirt that transforms into a dress. You provide some of the fabric (short materials list provided prior to class). Campers will take home an armful of great handmade items along with a basic sewing kit to keep them going when class is over. Sewing machines will be provided.
