Five Student Athletes Commit to Collegiate Athletics at Signing Day

The Upper School was buzzing with activity as students, parents, faculty, coaches, and media gathered for Athletic Signing Day.  Five Cavalier athletes from the class of 2012 made commitments to play at top-tier schools across the country.  They included:

Kendall Crawford, Harvard University, swimming

Thomas Johnson, Washington and Lee University, tennis

Cole Seiler, Georgetown University, soccer

Brooks Taylor, Washington and Lee University, basketball

Hunter Townes, Furman University, football

Athletic Director R.J. Beach opened the ceremony with words of congratulations to the student athletes, their families, and their coaches:

“Today represents the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication from these athletes, as well as a great deal of sacrifice and support from their families, and continuous guidance and instruction from their coaches.  There is no group at CCES who is more visible in the community than our student athletes.   I am very proud of the way these five have represented CCES and our athletic program throughout the years.”

Congratulations to these outstanding student athletes on their accomplishments.  While they may be going on to be members of the Generals, Crimson, Hoyas, and Paladins, they will always be Cavaliers!
