English teacher Nancy White recognizes the Cum
Laude inductees.
With her uncompromising reputation for promoting the academic excellence
of our students, it was fitting to have former College Guidance
Director and English teacher Jackie Suber as the
guest speaker for the annual Cum Laude Assembly in the Upper School.

Mrs. Suber begged to differ with Asheville native son Thomas Wolf,
who wrote You Can't Go Home Again. "We can--and you
will--come back to this home at CCES," she told the students.

to encourage qualities of excellence, justice, and honor,"
he said.

last spring were also recognized: Emily Irene Bridges, John

but that two of them were also named National Merit Scholars and
will each receive a $2,500 scholarship. Our 2008 National Merit
