Joel Heiser, chairman of the American Legion Oratorical Contest, commended senior Tricia Lu for her performance in the contest held on Saturday, January 16.

"Tricia Lu was an outstanding representative for Christ Church," he said. "In both her presentation and her personal demeanor, Tricia served your school in an outstanding manner. You can be justifiably proud that Christ Church has fine young men and women like Tricia."

The title of Tricia's presentation was "The Gift of Today and Tomorrow." All contestants were required to speak for 8-10 minutes without any notes about some aspect of the U.S. Constitution with emphasis on the duties and obligations of a citizen to our government.

Although Tricia did not win the contest, Mr. Heiser said that "the scores were very close, and she was an outstanding representative for Christ Church."
