As
an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school,
Christ Church Episcopal School is a designated "World
School." But being a World School extends far beyond
our IB programs.
Set
in Greenville, South Carolina, home to numerous international
firms, including Michelin, BMW, and CU-ICAR, CCES is
literally at the center of a newly emerging global economy
in the South. Here our students do not merely engage
in conversations about the world; they encounter it
daily in their interactions with fellow students from
countries on five continents.
Opportunities for international travel and participation
in foreign exchange programs abound. In a single school
year our students may complete a college-credit marine
science course on the ocean in the Bahamas, while another
group tours Spain or France accompanied by our foreign
language teachers. Whether students follow our IB Diploma
Program or our rigorous, standard college-preparatory
curriculum, all students leave CCES with a global perspective
and academic credentials that give many of them entree'
to America's most prestigious universities.
As you read through these pages on our website, pay
particular attention to the attributes of excellence
in our academic programs, many having no parallel in
the Upstate of South Carolina:
- academic
offerings that include 19 Advanced Placement courses
and 24 IB courses
- opportunities
for students to grow both in competence and confidence
through such requirements as the MYP Sophomore Project,
the Senior Thesis, and the IB Extended Essay, all
involving extended, mentored, independent learning
of topics chosen by the students
- technology
that enhances student learning and accomplishment
- an
extraordinary College Guidance Program offering sustained,
intensive, one-on-one college counseling opportunities
to study and travel abroad
Be assured: at CCES, your child will acquire a world-class
education.
