Episcopal Tradition & Belonging
Our Commitment
CCES is a chapel community spiritually rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We gather weekly in prayer and worship, honoring our Episcopal tradition while valuing multiple perspectives and respecting the religious traditions of others.
As an Episcopal School we are upheld by the Baptismal Covenant which calls us “to strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.” At CCES, we believe that fostering intellectual development and moral growth is most effective within a vibrant and diverse learning community, where close relationships enable us to understand, appreciate, and bridge our differences.
Whether in our classrooms, athletic fields, performance spaces, or in service to others in the community, the values of inclusiveness, compassion, kindness, and integrity are taught, modeled, and instilled across our school life.
Our Framework
We invite you to explore the framework of our Episcopal identity through the buttons below or reading this flipdoc.
As an Episcopal School we are upheld by the Baptismal Covenant which calls us to strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.
This is central to who we are - and is embedded in our Strategic Plan - to cultivate an inclusive community where all students, faculty, and staff engage others with mutual respect, embrace and honor differences, and build a sense of belonging for all.

Chapel of the Good Shepherd

In September 2005, CCES opened the doors to the newly constructed Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Located in the heart of the Cavalier campus, the chapel rises above the roofs of the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools as a symbol of the centrality of faith and prayer in a Christ Church Episcopal School education.
