CCES Stories

At Christ Church Episcopal School, we already know that our academics are strong, our sports are competitive, and our arts programs--both performing and visual--make our school stand out. But don’t just take our word for it: find out what CCES parents have to say!

Family Stories

  • The Gouch Family: Finding a school that meets the needs of all your children can be a challenge. But CCES has something for everyone.
  • The Johnstone Family: After learning CCES inside and out, the Johnstones know their long commute is worth the quality education their son is receiving.
  • The Sturdevant Family: Moving your family is a difficult decision, almost as difficult as deciding on a school. The whole family agrees that CCES was the right decision.
  • The Bullock Family: Transitioning out of the medical field and into life as the parent of a Primer (K5) student didn’t come without a few concerns for this family. Read how CCES and the Bullocks worked together to address every concern, and how Mandy found her own community in the process.
  • The Gallivan Family: The Gallivans know that having a large family can present its own unique challenges. But CCES teachers have treated each of their four boys as individuals with unique learning styles, fostering a partnership with the Gallivan family.
  • The George Family: Since they live in the Anderson-Piedmont area, the Georges had to look a little further than they thought to find a school that would work for all three of their children and their different personalities. But the drive has been worth it and their children have thrived.
  • The Gill Family: Balancing full-time work schedules and family life is tough. See how the Gills found the right balance for their busy family at CCES.
  • The Mahfood Family: The Mahfoods wanted to give their children an educational advantage for the best possible future. Not only have they been impressed with the education, they’ve found that CCES has so much more to offer their family.

Alumni Stories

  • Kate Furman '04: Kate credits CCES for preparing her well. “I am a hard and honest worker, and I know I got that through my education and mentors at CCES,” Kate said.
  • Dr. James Ryan '00: James said, “I learned to always strive for excellence in any endeavor I pursue. CCES really creates a culture of success and excellence for its students.
  • Blair Miller '00: You may know Blair Miller as one of the most recognized Realtors in Greenville, but she didn’t start her professional life in that field.
  • Lila Kittredge '78: “Christ Church has always been a school with high academic standards,” Mrs. Kittredge said, “but more importantly it has always been a place where deep and lasting relationships are nurtured and young people are encouraged to develop to their highest potential.”
  • Tim Tacke '08: “Christ Church was the best opportunity for me because I wouldn’t have gotten the same level of support if I went to a different school or a public school,” he said.
We love each of our unique families and alumni, and we’d love to meet you too! Let us know your email address, and we’ll be glad to reach out and schedule a tour or answer any questions you may have!
