We have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions in three different categories.  Admission covers questions about the application process, including campus visits, the admission timeline, and financial aid.   • Are CCES students required to wear uniforms?

    Students in grades P-8 wear uniforms. The Upper School students adhere to a dress code. Uniforms and dress code information is available in the Parent-Student Handbook.
  • When does school begin/end?

    Lower School: Monday 9:00-3:05, Tuesday-Friday 8:15-3:05
    Middle School: Monday 9:00-3:10, Tuesday-Friday 8:15-3:10
    Upper School: Monday 9:00-3:15, Tuesday-Friday 8:30-3:15
  • Do you offer an after-school program?

    The Lower and Middle schools offer extended stay from 3:05-5:30 for an additional fee. We also offer a variety of after school activities such as ballet, martial arts, soccer roller-skating, and art for grades P-6 at an additional cost.
  • Does CCES offer any summer programs?

    CCES offers a wide variety of summer programs for K4-12th grades. Click here to find out more.
  • How do parents get involved?

    There are many organizations that parents may join in order to get involved with the CCES community: Parents Panel, Parents Organization, the Booster Club, the Arts Guild, etc. There are also many opportunities to volunteer through your child's classroom, the bookstore, the library, etc.
  • How does CCES welcome new students?

    CCES has several programs to ensure our new families feel welcome and part of our community. We have Student Ambassadors, Parent Ambassadors, and the Cavalier Social Connection. All three organizations play an integral role in welcoming new families.
  • What is included in tuition?

    Tuition covers instruction, most textbooks, and certain student-related services. School lunch, after-school activities, and various other items are not included in tuition and fees. To learn more, please visit our Tuition & Fees webpage.

  • Do CCES students attend chapel services during the school day?

    All CCES students attend chapel weekly. There are four separate services; P-1, 2-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Each service lasts approximately 45 minutes with full Eucharist in grades 2-12 with parental permission. The Lower, Middle, and Upper School students also go to one morning prayer service during the week.
  • Does CCES offer an AP or IB program?

    CCES offers the International Baccalaureate Program at the Lower School level and both AP & IB programs at the Upper School level.
  • Is your school safe for my children?

    CCES has a 24 hour security team, as safety is one of our main priorities.
  • What are the opportunities at CCES for fine arts, athletics, or other activities?

    CCES students can participate in a variety of arts programs, including orchestra, photography, drama, and many others. Beginning in 7th grade, students can join one of our 46 athletic teams.   • What does diversity look like at CCES?

    The CCES population is 13% people of color.
  • What foreign languages are taught and in what grade levels?

    Primer- 5th Grade students are all taught exploratory Spanish. Students in grades 6-8 can choose to study Spanish, Latin, French, or Chinese. Students in grades 9-12 can choose between Spanish, Latin, French, Chinese or German. Students in the Upper School must complete 3 consecutive years of language study for graduation.
  • What is the average class size?

    Classes in the Lower School typically range from 16-20 students with an assistant. Middle school classes range from about 5-23 students with a median class size of 18. Upper School classes range from about 3-23 students with a median class size of 13.
  • What is the role of community service at CCES?

    Beginning in 2nd grade students serve in small groups. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th also participate in a full day of service. Students in the Upper School must complete a minimum of 15 hours of community service each year guided by our Director of Service Learning.
