With great enthusiasm, I am very pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint David Padilla as the ninth Head of School for CCES beginning in July of 2020.
David’s appointment marks the end of a seven-month, international search process during which the Search Committee met several exceptional candidates. In a highly competitive field, David’s passion for independent school education, energy for the pursuit of excellence, and curiosity for learning made him the clear choice. Throughout the process the search team pursued candidates who embodied the values that are at the core of CCES: Character, Community, Excellence, and Service. We also sought candidates who possessed attributes recommended by our community and characteristics that make CCES special: educating the whole child through our Episcopal Identity, a passion for athletics and the arts, the commitment to creating an inclusive community, nurturing a committed and caring faculty, and academic excellence.
I trust each of you are well and enjoying the beautiful weather. It’s the perfect time of year--post pollen and pre-intense heat so I hope you’re each able to get outside and enjoy it.
I trust each of you is well, still replenished from Spring Break, and ready to celebrate the Easter season. The search is moving full steam ahead and the Search Committee feels we could not be better positioned for success at this stage of the process.
Dear CCES Community, I hope you are all doing well and looking forward to a happy, restful winter break. Before you go, I wanted to offer a quick update on the Head of School Search.
Over two days on campus last week, we began working with our search firm, Spencer Stuart, to collect information from the CCES community regarding their views on what important qualities and experiences the next Head of School should have.
