About
Build for the Future Campus Master Plan

Campus Planning Leadership

Organizations usually don’t get the opportunity to step away from day to day reality and dream of what could be. It was a privilege to serve with Bill Pelham and a host of CCES stakeholders to do just that. To dream about how the CCES campus could facilitate building character, community, excellence and service into the future, for a changing global community and generations to come. A dream that promotes the core value of community, by physically radiating out from the Chapel - the heart of our campus - to academics, arts and athletics. A dream which creates a pedestrian campus, protecting our students and improving the on-campus experience by moving vehicular traffic to the periphery. Cary Perkins and the team at McMillan, Pazdan, Smith architects solicited input from an diverse, talented group of students, faculty, parents and community members across every functional area of the school, then applied their wealth of professional school design experience to create the vision. Strategic visits to regional schools affirmed and enhanced the project, even generating immediate operational enrichment. Land acquisition opportunities materialized, taking the dream closer to reality. A reality that, with the generous support of our devoted CCES family, can serve our children, grandchildren and the Greenville community for the future.

Campus Master Plan Committee

The campus planning work was spearheaded by the Campus Planning Committee and brought together perspectives from across the CCES community—from faculty and staff members to students, parents, administrators, alumni, Trustees, and experts from a variety of industries. We are grateful to all who contributed to the comprehensive planning effort.

After a nearly 30 year relationship with CCES, our family is truly excited about the Campus Master Plan. The impact will make a significant difference in the lives of students for generations to come. The sense of community, along with the love and care for students, staff and all associated with this school make CCES a uniquely special place. Given the competitive landscape in Greenville, the state, and the world, we have an obligation and a remarkable opportunity to provide our students with the best educational experience possible. CCES is perfectly positioned to be that leader, and I look forward to seeing the project come to life.
