Two Sophomores Earn GOA Citation Awards

by Paulette Unger, Upper School Science Teacher
The GOA Catalyst Conference recently ended and two CCES sophomores, Porter Brown and Emi Amaki, earned GOA Citations for their work in the Architecture class they just took.

Emi’s project, Tennis Dome: Promoting Mental and Physical Health, and Porter’s project, New Take On A Study Space, were selected from more than 400 presentations to receive a GOA Citation. Citations are awarded by Global Online Academy and member school faculty to those presentations that best represent the goals of the conference:
1) Raising awareness,
2) Promoting grassroots action,
3) Promoting institutional change.

Congratulations!

About the Catalyst Conference: The Catalyst Conference is a global, online event for students in the GOA consortium to share projects designed to spark change in their communities. Each presentation is the culmination of a capstone project that asked students to transform learning from their courses into research-based solutions for real-world issues.
