The Halftime Report: 2018 Spring Sports Review

by Joe Cummings, Student Enrollment Officer & Head Boy's Varsity Lacrosse Coach
CCES Athletics continued its run of success during the spring of 2018 with many teams and individuals accomplishing great achievements.  Boys Golf won its sixth consecutive State Championship after incredible performances by Harry and Rafe Reynolds in the State Tournament at Mount Vintage Golf Club in Augusta.  The team also finished with #11 National Ranking according to the NHSGA.

Boys Varsity Tennis completed another terrific season with a 15-3 record and came up just short of a State Championship after falling to Academic Magnet in the State Championship.  Varsity baseball, led by JB Barwick, finished with an 8-7 overall record.

Girls Soccer, led by Coach James Greco, finished their season at 9-9 and made a great run in the playoffs before losing to Southside Christian 4-1 in the Upper State Championship.  Boys Soccer, led by first year coach, Sean Vick, finished with an 11-12 record and made it to the second round of the playoffs. Senior Cliff Gandis was awarded as an Academic All-American.

Girls Lacrosse, coached by new Athletic Director, Molly Miller, finished with a 10-6 record.  They earned a 2 seed in the playoffs and eventually made it to the Upper State Championships before losing to Chapin.  Boys Lacrosse finished with a 4-10 record, and Senior Captain Jack Sanders earned Academic All-American for the state of South Carolina and the Bob Scott Award given by US Lacrosse.

Congratulations to all of our Cavaliers!
