Foreign Language Declamation

by Jamie Bryant, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications
Students gain valuable skills that will serve them well in the years and decades ahead when they participate in declamation contests. The second annual CCES Foreign Language Declamation took place on October 17th. Each and every Upper School student practiced language declamation by performing or speaking (in their non-native language of study) on the Rooke Theater stage in the Hartness Performing Arts Center.

The recitations could be in the form of poems, humorous monologues, speeches or songs. Some were fairly simple, while others were more sophisticated.

Many Upper (and Middle) School students will go on to participate in a Foreign Language Declamation Contest at Clemson later this year.
