CavBack Program Launches its Second Year!

by Jamie Bryant, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications

CavBack groups were unveiled in an upbeat celebration in the Hartness Performing Arts Center this morning. CavBack is a required, semi-structured, bilateral mentorship and service program for seniors. It launched under Goal 7 of the strategic plan, which states, "Building on existing models of service and mentorship within the School, increase opportunities for students to serve their fellow students, with older students conferring the benefits of their CCES experience on younger students.” This marks the second year of the program.

Students from the Class of 2020 will deploy all over the school to areas such as the Achievement Center, Admission Office, College Counseling, Marketing, Maintenance and Grounds, and more to "intern" in those areas in which they have expressed interest.

The CavBack Program experienced success in the 2018-19 school year with 103 seniors gaining experience in professional areas of interest, working with their CavBack supervisors on Friday mornings, across campus.

Generous God, you have given each and every one us talents,
good gifts to be put to good use, not simply for our own sake,
but for the flourishing of all your people.
We ask your blessing on this gathering, dear Lord, and on this year of Cavback.
May the class of 2020 find joy in all the ways they serve and give back,
and may they be an encouragement to all those whom they serve.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen.
