CARSON STADIUM AND LINDA REEVES FIELD EARN “FIELD OF THE YEAR” HONORS BY STMA

by Jamie Bryant, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications
The Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) has unveiled its 2019 “Field of the Year Award” winners.  Since 1992, STMA’s Field of the Year Award recognitions, at both the state and national levels, are presented to members who manage baseball, football, soccer, softball and other sporting playing surfaces at the professional, collegiate, schools (K-12) and parks and recreation level.  CCES was announced the 2019 Football Field of the Year winner for Carson Stadium by the National STMA, and the 2019 Schools/Parks Sporting Grounds Field of the Year winner for Linda Reeves Field by the state chapter of STMA!

Congratulations to Brian Dossett, Head Turf Manager with Oxner Landscape, Dewey Oxner, Jake Haynes, Zach Dees, and Matthew Conroy with Oxner Landscape, Travis Frost, and Coach Larry Frost who manage all of the field painting for Carson Stadium.

A panel of 12 judges independently scored entries based on playability, appearance of surfaces, utilization of innovative solutions, effective use of budget and implementation of a comprehensive agronomic program. Winners receive a plaque, recognition at the STMA annual Awards Banquet, and will be featured in a 2020 issue of SportsTurf Magazine, the official monthly publication of STMA.

We are blessed to have such beautiful grounds here at CCES!
