CCES College Counselor Bartley Sides Awarded President’s Award for Excellence

Resilient, resourceful, hardworking and dependable. These are the adjectives used to describe CCES College Counselor and President’s Award for Excellence winner Bartley Sides by his peers at the Southern Associate for College Admission Counseling (SACAC).

Bartley is the most recent recipient of the award, which recognizes those who have contributed to SACAC in a multitude of ways. Bartley’s service to SACAC has spanned many years and in various capacities including co-chairing committees, mentoring younger professionals and frequently presenting at conferences.
 
Furman University Director of Admissions, Melissa Cline says about Bartley,Bartley has served SACAC and its constituents in so many ways, most notably, his tenure on the Board of Directors, his role as co-chair of the Upstate National College Fair local area planning committee, involvement in planning and attending local counselor professional development programming, and his commitment to local and national legislative days. Bartley is known for asking questions of our counseling community that push the conversation forward in supporting college counselors and the students whom we all serve.”
 
Another colleague says, “Bartley knows how to draw outside the lines always pushing the boundaries of any given challenge by asking insightful questions that inspire those around him to think creatively and act. The way he constructs those questions illuminates his sharp mind and humble spirit. He thinks deeply and he cares passionately about finding the best ways to serve his SACAC peers and his students.”
