CCES TO CONTEST DECISION BY SC HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE TO SIDELINE THOUSANDS OF STUDENT-ATHLETES

The state court ruling to grant a temporary restraining order suspends the enactment of amendments that would have restricted eligibility of students transferring in grades 8-12 to non-public and charter schools for an entire school year. The verdict in state court affirms school choice and permits the preservation of current eligibility standards.

We believe that the ruling serves the interests of students. Participation in athletics promotes assimilation of new students into the school community. A major part of the value proposition of our school is the opportunity to participate in the full range of programs offered by the school.
