Upper School Club Fair Goes Virtual!

by Jamie Bryant, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications

The annual Upper School Club Fair introduces ninth-twelfth-grade students to the many clubs and organizations available to them on campus.  CCES has a vast number of clubs encompassing a variety of special interests, to enhance students’ Upper School experience.  All clubs are required to have a faculty sponsor, are student-run, and meet on campus.

This year club leaders produced introduction videos, which students could treat like a playlist, exploring the clubs that may hold interest for them.  “While clubs do not necessarily have a set time or space to meet as of right now,” said Kristin Bouldin, 9th Grade Dean of Students, Upper School History Instructor, Yearbook Adviser and Club Fair Coordinator, “our hope is to provide an opportunity for connection soon.”

The 20 clubs offered this school year at CCES include Bass Fishing, The Walking Dead, Delphian, Chemistry, Chinese, Bible Study, Philosophy and Ethical Discussion, Environmental, Academic Team, Government and Politics, YIG, Ubuntu, Mock Trial,
Art Club, Spanish Club, Health Careers Club Presentation, Dance Club, Volleyball Club,
Star Wars Club, and Book Club.  The list does not include involvement opportunities that occur within an elective class (Yearbook, for example) or opportunities that require auditioning, election or selection (such as Student Council or Student Ambassadors).

Undoubtedly, there is something for everyone!  These clubs provide students the opportunity to be a part of the school, in ways that don’t involve just showing up to class and going home.
