Four CCES Students Take First Place Awards in SCASL Book Trailer

by Jamie Bryant, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications

History was made on Thursday as five Middle School students became the first from CCES to receive 1st place awards from the South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL).

These students willingly and voluntarily took on the challenge of creating a book trailer and competed against students across all of South Carolina.  The book trailer had to represent a Book Award Nominee for the current year and had to be an original work created by just the students.

Videos were judged on the authenticity of the art as it relates to the book as well as on the artistic quality of the book trailer.

1st Place for Children's Book Award Book Trailer
Josh Butler ‘28, Sam Green ‘28, and Riley Anne Holmes ‘28

"Arlo Finch in the Valley of Fire"

1st Place for Junior Book Award Book Trailer
Charlotte McKillop ‘28

"Every Shiny Thing"

They will each be awarded a $100 prize from SCASL!  Congratulations Josh, Sam, Riley Anne, and Charlotte!
