Seniors Sofia Ossmann and McKinley Copenhaver’s Artwork to be Installed in City Bus Shelters
In a collaboration between Greenlink, the City of Greenville Youth Commission, and the City of Greenville Arts in Public Places Commission, local high school students submit inspiring artwork each year to beautify bus stop shelters. The goals of the project are to help raise awareness about the Youth Commission, increase civic engagement and understanding of public transit, and provide access to public art throughout our community.
Up to 10 designs were selected for installation in up to 10 Greenlink bus stop shelters (one design per shelter) by wrapping the outside of the rear glass panels of the shelters with an adhesive, vinyl decal. Seniors Sofia Ossmann and McKinley Copenhaver were two of those 10 winning artists, chosen from a pool of 59 submissions! Winners were selected on a variety of criteria to include; quality of work, originality/creativity, representation of the theme, and appropriateness (family-friendly).
Artists will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 25 at an event at the Greenlink Transit Center. Congratulations to Sofia and McKinley!
