Top Finishes for CCES Academic Team!

 
The CCES Academic team shares in the joy of learning through academic competition.  Academic competitions usually involve rounds of quick questions and answers using a buzzer system.
 
This past weekend, the team competed at Southside High School and Varsity earned a first place finish out of sixteen area teams!  Our JV teams placed third and fourth, respectively, out of eight total JV teams.
 
The varsity team comprised of seniors Mac Mertens, Ella Markalunas, Jamie Walker, Nico Ludkowski, Grant Dunham, and Jacob Riccawent undefeated 8-0 over the tournament.  Mac Mertens was the top individual scorer of the tournament.
 
The JV team comprised of Mac Spear '24, Madelyn Brotherton '25, Brooke Morgan '25, and Eliza Roy '25 placed third.  Mac Spear was the top individual scorer, coming in fifth overall in the JV division. Eliza Roy placed 11th overall. 
 
The all-freshmen team C comprised of Luke Brownlee, Liam Weston, Brooke Grayson, and Kayla Brezenski, placed fourth overall with Luke Brownlee the top scorer at seventh overall.  Liam Weston also placed in the top ten (ninth place). 
 
Congrats to these high-achieving students!
