Junior Gracen Miller’s Involvement with the Episcopal Diocese Earns her Invitation to Momentous Occasion

As a member of the Executive Committee of the Diocesan Youth Leadership Council, Gracen Miller ’23 participated as an invited guest in the Consecration of the 9th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina, The Very Reverend Daniel Paul Richards, on Saturday, February 26th at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia.

The Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee (DYLC) is comprised of high school students and adults from throughout the diocese. The group serves as the core leadership body for implementing policy, developing procedures, and designing overall structure for diocesan youth ministry.

Gracen has served on DYLC for the past three years.  She is also now serving as a member of the executive committee of this group, working with clergy, diocesan staff, lay leaders, and selected students to lead youth ministry throughout the diocese.

The Rev. Wallace Adams-Riley, Senior Chaplain at CCES, was also at the Consecration.  "What a joy it was to come back from communion and spot Gracen in the middle of the congregation," Wallace said.  "Her leadership in the diocese is impressive and appreciated, and it is evident that her faith is real and central to her life."
