The George Family

At home, Mrs. George is confident about generally knowing what’s best for her kids. But finding the right school for your kids—especially when your kids are as different as her three—is a daunting task for any parent!

The Perfect Classroom for an Energetic Child?

When the Georges started looking into schools for their oldest child, they knew they would have to be picky. Their son was outgoing, active, and energetic; he could easily take up all of a teacher’s time and attention in a typical school classroom. Although they weren’t from the Greenville area, they decided to attend a tour of Christ Church Episcopal School’s Primer classes to see what they had to offer—and they were impressed. Even though they lived well outside the “normal” radius of CCES families, they were pleased to find they knew several other parents attending the tour and easily made even more connections.

The teachers, small classroom sizes, and school structure sealed the deal—they knew this would be the ideal environment for their son to learn and mature.

But when it came time for their second child to start school, they weren’t so sure. The school had done remarkably well with their eager, outgoing son, but their middle child was shy and hesitant to meet new people. Would CCES be the right place for him as well, or would they end up taking their children to two different schools?

They gave it a shot and enrolled their second son in the CCES Primer. The results were amazing! They have seen their “shy” child blossom into a confident speaker and classroom participant.

Because of Christ Church Episcopal School’s emphasis on educating and maturing the whole person, this “shy” 5th grader has the confidence to perform in plays in front of the whole school.

The Quality Education Is Worth the Commute!

Though commuting from the Anderson/Piedmont area can be a challenge, the Georges have found that volunteering and attending school activities are worth the effort. Plays and football games provide opportunities to build relationships with other parents. And like other CCES parents who live outside the Greenville area, the Georges believe that the learning environment provides the best education for their children and are willing to go the distance. The George family knows the foundation CCES provides academically, socially, and spiritually sets their children up for their best possible future.
