Build for the Future
The Future StartsToday
Dear CCES Community,
Recently, I was talking with the leader of a peer institution about independent school culture and how schools like CCES shape that culture. After much discussion, he captured all that we had covered in an elegantly simple–but powerful–way: We honor the past; we celebrate the present; we envision the future.
Since our founding over six decades ago, CCES has been rooted in spiritual life and educational excellence. Our Episcopal identity shapes all that we do as we work tirelessly to provide the finest academic programming possible. From our beginning as an elementary school on Washington Street, we grew intentionally by gradually adding grades, expanding our programs, and ultimately relocating to our current campus on Cavalier Drive. On this journey, one constant has been a clear dedication to preserving the CCES experience.
Nearly four years ago, CCES undertook the most comprehensive campus and facilities study in our history. Again, our goal was clear: to craft a thoughtful, intentional, and realistic plan that would be both achievable and sustainable. It would honor our history and traditions even as we seek ways to have the aging facilities better match the excellence of what happened in the classrooms, on the stage, in the studios, and on the fields. Throughout the process, our mission again remained constant: to enhance the CCES experience for all students and faculty.
These efforts have culminated in a visionary campus plan and our Build for the Future Campaign—a long-term, phased approach which will transform the CCES campus while honoring our strong foundation. Having now raised nearly $21 million toward our goal, this achievement reflects unprecedented support through both transformational giving and dedicated volunteerism. Our stewardship will ensure this campus serves future Cavaliers as effectively as it has served past generations.
With plans to break ground in the summer of 2025, we need your continued support to realize this vision. Whether you have already contributed or are considering a pledge, your participation represents an investment in our future. To our current donors: thank you. To those considering joining us: we welcome your financial support.
I cannot fully express my excitement about what lies ahead, and I look forward to celebrating these transformative changes with our entire community. The future starts today, so we invite you to be part of this remarkable journey.
With deepest gratitude,
David Padilla
