Athletic Leadership Development

Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy is a voluntary program designed for student-athletes during their junior year at Christ Church Episcopal School. CCES collaborates with AMPLOS (formerly known as Synergy Performance) to provide leadership development and to help our student-athletes become the best version of themselves.

In addition to meeting once a month with the coaches of AMPLOS, student-athletes meet in a one-on-one setting with Quin Hatfield, CCES Student Athlete Leadership Development Coordinator. Each year the Academy accepts approximately 30 student-athletes into the program, and since its inception in 2015, the leadership program has impacted over 150 student-athletes.

Leadership Discovery

The CCES Athletics Leadership Discovery program launched in January of 2021. In 2022, this program was incorporated into the Physical Education curriculum, and meets once a month with seventh and eighth grade students. The objective of Leadership Discovery is to focus on self-leadership with a specific emphasis on character development. This program directly aligns with The Cavalier Way, a Middle School program that focuses on our mission values of character, community, excellence, and service.

Both the Leadership Academy and Discovery programs are made possible by the CCES Athletics Department and the Booster Club.

Coaches Leadership Academy

The Coaches Leadership Academy launched in 2017 and is a monthly personal growth and development program available to all CCES Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches. In addition to monthly meetings, a coaches retreat is held at the end of the summer to kickstart the new school year. Molly Miller, Director of Athletics coordinates all meetings, and Milt Lowder, founder and CEO of AMPLOS, a performance psychology company, leads each session. Not only does the Coaches Leadership Academy create an opportunity to focus on self-improvement but it gives our coaches a chance to connect with other coaches and further build a community of support.
