Dear CCES Family:

President Trump announced last night that federal guidelines regarding social distancing will be extended through April. In compliance with this prudent decision, CCES extends its campus closure and remote learning through May 1.

After a remarkably smooth transition to a digital platform, we begin Week Three of DLD today more like a routine than a novelty. The success of this transition relies on an impressive and predictable team effort. Our faculty are constantly refining their craft in this digital learning environment. Their commitment to continuous improvement that characterizes their teaching normally remains alive and well on this alternate platform. Students have embraced the new format with a growth mindset. You have been patient and purposeful partners in this reconfiguration of learning environments. Our most distinctive trait has always been the spirit and power of community. That core trait--one team pulling in the same direction with a common will for a shared purpose--has never shined more brightly.

In the spirit of our partnership, we want to hear from you. To help us understand the user experience, Dr. Allen will issue a survey to parents this week inviting input to identify areas for improvement.

Please review the Digital Learning Plan on the OCC; we update it periodically. We have modified the section on communication today.

We will continue to monitor developments carefully. If we can safely return to our campus before the end of May, we will. We share a common desire to return to the familiar routines of schooling. In all decisions regarding the suspension of regular classes and the substitution of digital learning, our foremost concern is the safety and well being of every student.

Stay steady, safe, and healthy.

Your truly,

Dr. Leonard Kupersmith
